_____ Review the student agenda / planner to know what is expected of you
_____ When possible, write papers, do projects, etc. about college
_____ Enter essay and speech contests for scholarships

______ Study hard and do well in school - From now on your grades will
count toward college and will show up on your permanent record
______ Get to know your high school counselor and let them get to know you
and your goals, career aspirations, schools you are considering.
______ Develop a plan that will put you on the college track. Anticipate that you
will have to go beyond the minimum requirements to graduate high
school
______ Take the most challenging course-load possible such as Honors classes.
______ Establish a strong foundation for study habits and test taking
______ Attend college fairs when the opportunity arises.
